They wished to use the power of the artifacts to rule the world, and wage secret war against the Librarians, who try to stop them. The Serpent Brotherhood were behind the riots that destroyed the first, Alexandrian Library.

Character Name: The Eighth Doctor
Character Journal: thentherewas8
Description: At 5'8" and of rather average build, he has a penchant for dressing like he's out of the old west, with a double-breasted waistcoat, cravat, and suit jacket. His hair is wavy-curly and and at the sort of accidentally-longish stage.
Backstory: I use Eight's book canon, instead of the radio shows. The cut-off point for this version is Halflife.
Having had many of his memories disappear (again), this is the backstory as far as my Doctor's concerned: He is the Doctor, a Time Lord, he has a TARDIS, and he travels through time and space in it with his companions Fitz and Trix. He's not that fond of Trix yet, and keeps expecting her to get bored and wander off from 'her ride.' Other than that, and a few vague details here and there, he's drawing a blank on quite a bit. He might randomly remember a person from his past, but he's just as likely not to.

Your take on the character's personality and story:
The Eighth Doctor is, to sum up, an open book written in a different language. He's a very tactile, feeling sort of fellow. He lives with zest, doing things because they're worth doing and not getting caught up in the 'I'm a Time Lord' issues (largely because half the time he doesn't remember them). His definition of personal space is about two inches to the inside of a person. He likes to hug, and if he gets over-excited he's been known to snog innocent bystanders. He seems to be doing so in a completely innocent fashion.

Affable and friendly, Eight takes brief sojourns into the realms of irritated and Disappointed, only to jump back five seconds later into happy and enthusiastic. This Doctor is less likely to get Angry and much, much more likely to get devestatingly Disappointed In You when a person makes error. There is excessive use of puppy eyes involved.

That being said, Eight's had a rather trying time of it, what with all the amnesia. There are many things which he doesn't remember. Some of them he chooses not to recall, and some he really would prefer to know - if only he remembered that he was missing them. He recently chose not to remember almost everything.

Why is your character important to the game/what can s/he bring to the plot?
The Eighth Doctor is one of the less jaded incarnations. He likes everyone and is very willing to forgive. Eight wants things and people to be good, and when they aren't and he has to stop or destroy him, he grieves. I believe that this is an important element to have. Besides, a Fitz without an Eight is a sad puppy indeed.

Why do you want to play this character?:
I want to play Eight because he is one of my favourite Doctors. I've had his journal for quite a while now, and haven't been able to find a place to hang his hat before. When I was told this game had an opening for him, I was very excited.

First time applicants:
What's your favorite episode of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and/or The Sarah Jane Adventures? Why?
I have no idea. The easiest one to pin down is my favourite Torchwood episode - less of them to choose from after all - and that would be "A Day in the Death." I like it the most of the Torchwood series because it really takes the time to explore the entirety of Owen's character as it was known at that point. It's a show about both the negatives and positives of sentient life, and takes the time to handle all of its themes with grace. Suicide, letting go of someone lost, and accepting your own mortality are all delicate subject matters, and herein were handled beautifully, leaving the characters and viewers with hope.

George/McGoogly crackship

Hokay. So there's this thing with a thing that does this thing. And yeah.
As many of you probably/possibly know, hailthewarrior and I still RP. Rather a lot, actually. And, well, we ended up going into HP a while ago... as in last winter/spring. That was our big story-arch of the school year, actually. And, well... Anyone who's RP'd with me knows that when you present a concept to me, even if it's completely the opposite of what I had planned, I'll probably run with it. Because it's shiny and oh hee yay! Yeah. I'm easily distracted and stuff (this has resulted many times in extreme character development, and even the death of more than one).

So anyway. Not just death comes of these events. Sometimes love blooms...

So, to set the scene... Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and George are talking about recent events... And arguing whether or not Ginny should be allowed to fight in the final battle. At the Burrow, where most of the Order and such have gathered. (I apologize for our extreme AUness and horrible Americanisms, though I at least tried to keep those out.)

Ginny: And why not? All the teachers are right there, anyways!
George: Ginny, you are the youngest. Every one of us is sunk in this mess up to our necks. If something happens... You're all that Mum might have left.
Ginny: Don't you dare use the mom card on me!
George: I'm not. Dad is.
Ginny: She'd still have Percy! However bad that sucks...and Charlie!
Ron: *has the "she's got a point" look*
Harry: *sighs*
George: Charlie's just as involved as any of us. And Percy... you have to be joking.
Ginny: Maybe he'd eventually pull his head out of his ass to care enough about his mom...if he can't, I hope LV crucio's him until he dies.
Hermione: Ginny!

George: Really. *nods* He always was the sentimental type, though... Do you really think McGonagall'd blow up toilets for me? Do you think it'd be too sudden to ask her to marry me?
Hermione: *choking noises*
Ginny: She's a little old for you....
George: But what is age in the face of love as true as ours?
Ron: That's disgusting.
George: *pitying look at Ron* You will learn, dear brother, that the more progressed women know more.
Harry: *chuckles* Which teacher did you sleep with, George?
George: I am saving myself for dear McGonagall. For so long I feared that she did not return my love... But now, I have been given hope.

And takes it up a notch...

George: Actually, it was Fred. He slept with Pomfrey. Don't ask.
Ron: Pomfrey?! Madam Pomfrey?
Harry: Hm. I thought it would've been Hooch...
Ginny: That's...disgusting.
George: I said don't ask... And that was Lee, Harry.
Harry: Ah...you okay, Hermione?
Hermione: ... *burries face in hands*
Ron: *shakes head*

Just can't leave well enough alone, can he? Poor Hermione... It's just going to get worse...

McG herself: *walks into the room* Ah, George, there you are.
Hermione: *more choking noises*
Ginny: *can't stifle laughter*
